This experience will take us to discover one of the most beautiful and characteristic corners of our region, the massif of Mount Cervati. The hiking will take place in two days, with the first stop that through the path that climbs along the valley of “the water that sounds”, we will cross a beautiful beech forest to an altitude of 1597 meters, where we will find to wait for us with their proverbial hospitality managers of the Refuge of Cervati, our friends Riccardo and Peppino. After we’ve checked in, we start towards the summit with a panoramic path that in less than 2 hours will take us to the church of the Madonna della Neve which is located on top of Mount Cervati, at 1,899 meters (highest peak in Campania), where we will have a wonderful view of the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni. After stopping an hour and a half at the top and not before visiting the Madonna in the cave, we will return in an hour and a half to the refuge for a comforting shower waiting for the evening, where we expect an excellent dinner, consisting of local products, all washed down with a good wine, then after the classic chat on the comfortable sofa in front of the fire of the fantastic fireplace in the dining room, we await the warm duvets of which the refuge and provided.
In the morning we will have breakfast and after the inevitable coffee we will be ready to return in an hour and a half to the machines.
N.B. The times and the schedule of this excursion will be decided according to the needs of the customer and the managers of the refuge.
P.S. Please note that at the Refuge they use solar panels to produce the necessary energy: make sure that all your devices are fully charged and that you have secondary batteries; there are very comfortable bunk beds, 2 bathrooms and 2 showers, a wood stove on the second floor and a huge fireplace in the dining room.
