A Multiday Trek that will introduce us to the of villages the Amalfi Coast
“The Wonders’ of the Amalfi Coast Trek” has been designed to introduce you to all the gems of the Amalfi Coast; a long 5 day walk, which starts from Cava de’ Tirreni and will take us through the fishing villages of the Amalfi Coast: from high mountains, with a visit to the magnificent Sanctuary of the Madonna Avvocata, built at 900 meters above sea level, on a cliff overlooking the coast, to the beautiful marine inlets of the coast, we will dive into the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Swimsuit and beach towel required, each trek will end with a swim in the sea and there will be surprises in this fantastic journey through the Lattari Mountains. We will visit the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalfi, the beautiful Atrani, set in the rock like a nativity scene, and again the elegant Ravello with its amazing villas and the spectacular panorama, we will walk the Lemons’ Trail, that from Maiori will take us to Minori where we will visit the famous lemon garden and much more. Then we will walk the fantastic Path of the Gods and then down the famous alleys of Positano. From here we will move to the Sorrento Peninsula to visit Sorrento, another pearl of our region, where we will stay the last night on this authentic walking adventure among the villages of the Amalfi Coast.
First stop on this fantastic journey through the beauties of the Lattari Mountains and the Amalfi Coast.
We start from Cava de 'Tirreni, from the millennial hamlet Badia of Cava, where the famous Path 300 "Alta Via dei Lattari" begins. From the hinland, the path will take us to the coast where we will enjoy unique views over the city of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast , and we reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna Avvocata where we will have lunch, after visiting the cave of the Madonna we will take the downhill path, which through chestnut woods and beautiful lemon groves, in 2 hours will take us to the center of Maiori where the first day ends.
We start from Maiori, then along the famous Path of the Lemons we will arrive in Minori where we will make a visit in the famous pastry shop for an excellent lemon cake of the Amalfi Coast.
From here, then, through ancient stairs we will first reach Ravello, where we can take a coffee in the elegant Piazza Duomo, and after we will reach the beautiful Atrani, set in the rock; finally, through a comfortable and unique path between the roofs and the courtyards of the houses, we will arrive in the center of the queen of the coast, the magnificent Amalfi where you can visit the Duomo or simply stroll among the many shops of the ancient historical center.
We leave Amalfi, crossing the historic center and take the path of the Mills’ Valley, where we will be able to observe the Ancient Paper Mills, now in disuse but real industrial monuments. Continuing, the path that will take us straight to a fantastic world, the Mills’ Valley, a real hidden treasure of these mountains, and at the end of the trail there’s a unique place in the world with its particular microclimate where you can see the preserved prehistoric fern, the "Woodwardia Radicans", present in this place already 120 million years ago. The visit to the Big Waterfall, almost 30 meters high and the Petrified Mosses, are two unmissable gems of this fantastic world. From here a path will take us to Agerola, where the third day ends.
The Path of the Gods needs no introduction, but I would like to say that we will find ourselves on one of the most beautiful paths in Italy, we will walk on the edge of deep cliffs and we will have under our feet a breathtaking panorama, we will discover the history of the Li Galli islets, we will admire the Faraglioni of Capri, and the whole stretch of coast that goes from Capo Conca to Punta Campanella, the end of the peninsula.
We will reach Nocelle, a hamlet of Positano, where we will stop and we will taste the Amalfi sfusato lemon granit; from here we continue towards Positano, taking a panoramic path through stairs that will take us, in less than 2 hours, to the center of Positano, where you can go shopping, wander in the alleys, sit on the beach and enjoy a coffee or swim in the Mediterranean sea. From here we will move to Sorrento where we will have the opportunity to visit another pearl of the Coast, in the morning ready to go for the last leg of this wonderful journey.
The last stage of this spectacular trek that will take us to the Sorrento Peninsula, at Punta Campanella, from where we will have an unforgettable view of the island of Capri and its Faraglioni. We will travel along the via Minerva, an ancient road from the Magna Graecia time, and we will arrive at the Punta Campanella lighthouse and from here we will climb Monte San Costanzo from where we can admire the 360° panorama over the two gulfs of Salerno and Naples. From here a comfortable path will take us back to the starting point.
